C. Matthew Bethancourt (“Matt”) has practiced real estate law for more than 15 years focusing on 1031 transactions, real estate development and finance. During that time, Matt assembled longstanding, nationwide clients on all sides of a 1031 deal – buyers, sellers, developers, tenants and lenders. This volume and breadth of experience has provided him with pragmatic, collaborative solutions for virtually every issue that arises on a 1031 exchange.Matt earned a Bachelor of Arts from Texas A&M University before attending Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law for his J.D.
Michael attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration. Following his undergraduate education, Michael attended the University of Florida College of Law, where he was awarded the degree of Juris Doctor (with honors). Michael is a member of the State Bar of Texas and its Real Estate, Probate and Trust Section, the Dallas Bar Association, and the International Council of Shopping Centers. Michael also serves on the Board of Directors for Promise House, a non-profit organization in Dallas that provides services to at risk, runaway and abused youth.
